Children’s yoga is not just about learning poses or sitting quietly. They will be encouraged to embrace their playfulness, feel confident in their own skin, and learn skills to navigate through the ups and downs of life.
No class is ever the same, and that is the beauty of interactions with children. Classes are themed and designed to be playful and engaging in order to energise, empower, relax and nurture their holistic development. They will be mindfully guided to grow and learn about themselves, others and the world around them through:
age-appropriate yoga poses, individually, and in partners or groups
simple and portable breathing techniques to learn how to self regulate and develop emotional intelligence
sharing circles to allow self-expression and enhance self-confidence
engaging and mindful games to foster cooperation, connection, patience and compassion
yoga adventures or co-creation of yoga sequences to nurture their creativity and imagination
mindful meditation, guided imagery and visualisation, affirmations and relaxation techniques
Current group classes:
Term 4 Kids Yoga & Mindfulness - 8 week term after school at Heilen Studio, Dee Why.
Tuesday’s 4pm-4.45pm.
Approx age range children 4-8 years.
